Fire Crews Continue To Clean Up Aftermath of Northern California Carr Fire

Redding, California - Crews continue to clean up the aftermath of The Carr Fire, which burned over 299,000 acres of forest, west of Redding California.

The blaze destroyed 1,079 residences, 22 commercial structures, 503 outbuildings, and damaged hundreds of other homes, structures, and businesses. 

The fire, which was determined to have been caused by the mechanical failure of a vehicle, claimed the lives of 3 firefighters, and took over 500 fire personel to contain.  

Although full containment has been achieved, firefighters will continue to patrol the fire area for several days and fire suppression repair remains ongoing.
